ARTIST NOTES: Original canvas found thrown away on a sidewalk in Hampton, Melbourne. / The idea of the Upcycled Art by Eliska is that I believe that everyone can contribute to make our world better and sustainable. Walking and biking on Melbourne streets I have realised that people are throwing so much stuff and it is not only furniture what you will see on the roads, there are also old canvases, that are laying there, neglected, predetermined to end up in a landfill. I have decided to give them another chance. I bring them home, wash them, fix them and paint them. They can then go and be proudly hanged on a wall once more in their life.
