ARTIST NOTES: Skyline is a group of 3 giraffes in different positions. Running, drinking and on the look out. In this work I have aimed to find the limits of the material, both in the sculpting stage and in the casting. The result is an extremely fine if exaggerated work - which highlights the characteristics of the animal.
The work is placed on a rare piece of Chocolate elm, in which the natural know occurring on the block is hollowed out slightly to give the impression of a water hole.
Although I am casting the giraffes 5 times maximum, this group and placement is unique.
