ARTIST BIO

Lance Ross has been an artist all of his working life.  He studied life drawing at the National Gallery Art School, won first prize for figure drawing at the Victorian Artists' Society and is included in the book 'Artists and Galleries of Australia and New Zealand' by Max Germaine.  He was accepted as a member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists in London and was a Foundation Member of the Australian Society of marine Artists.  He organised what was then Australia's largest ever art show, 'The 1973 Melbourne Art Show' in the Royal Exhibition Buildings (all artists were personally invited).

The world's biggest selling art magazine published in America, 'International Artist,' in 2019 ran an eight-page article on Lance's work. A year before in Australia, 'Artist's Palette' magazine ran a 10-page article on his work.

Lance has sold hundreds of fine art paintings, his works hang in seven countries and he has completed many commissions of portraits, landscapes, figure drawings, cars, boats, aircraft, horses, architecture and marine art.  He has done thousands of commissioned and published commercial illustrations of innumerable subjects in a wide range of techniques.

He has won international and Australian awards and 'Highly Commended' certificates for fine art, graphic design, poster design, brochure design and writing, has written and illustrated best selling books, published top selling magazines, limited edition prints and greeting cards and designed and marketed artists' materials.  One of his past employment references states, " ...he is Melbourne's best all-rounder."

See a very small sample of his work at www.lanceross.com.au, or email lanceross@netspace.net.au, telephone 03 98224933 or visit or write to 701 Toorak Road, Kooyong VIC 3144, Australia.
