Angela Anderson is a Melbourne artist inspired by the emotive power and impact of nature. Her paintings are born from personal experiences with the natural environment and travel journeys. Where does she find inspiration? "I look outward and around. I analyse while enjoying views, asking myself – How would I represent this through paint? One has to be aware of detail, of the interplay of colour and have an open mind, it's all about how you really look at things." Angela’s love of being creative has been her motivation most of her life. Being a self-taught painter, she explores and is excited by the wonder of colour, light and texture. Angela’s paintings excite the visual senses, drawing you in with the application of exhilarating colours and texture. On closer inspection you become aware of carefully considered layers of colours. Angela uses mixed media and acrylics to create her artworks. Born and raised in Melbourne and now living Melbourne’s green-wedge area, Angela has studied Art and has been painting since the late 90’s. She is a regular exhibitor at The Convent Gallery, Daylesford VIC, at local Melbourne art shows and paints commissioned pieces. Angela lived and painted in Broome, W.A. for four years (2016 – 2019) and passionately loved the light and vibrant colours of the Kimberley region. Living there impacted significantly on her artwork style and her passion to create original artworks. Her colourful, textured, aerial, flow style in her artwork reflects the impact of coastal tides and currents. Angela uses the natural forces of nature, flow, gravity and wind to create her exciting seascape paintings. While in Broome Angela held two sell out solo Art Exhibitions and was a much sought-after exhibitor in the Enviro Kimberley Art Auctions where she successfully sold two paintings each year. Angela is commissioned to create artworks for collectors across Australia
Painting is Angela’s addictive, leisurely passion.
