ARTIST NOTES: This painting literally began as a reminder to myself that I am making art for myself and not trying to figure out what others want. I painted the words THIS ART IS FOR ME on the canvas in multiple colors and went from there. The canvas is also covered in gold glitter that dances on the canvas as you walk by it. It's a constant reminder to me to do what I love. I currently have it hanging as a diamond, rather than a square.

ARTIST BIO

Kelly Burke  was born in the US and relocated to Melbourne, Australia in 2017 were she lives and creates with her husband and dog. She started getting serious about exploring her artistic side in 2020 just as COVID came along and gave her the time and space to do just that. She loves exploring different visual art medium. To date she has experimented with: photography, pottery, acrylic painting, oil painting, acrylic pouring, alcohol inks and resin in a multitude of uses. She is inspired by nature, music, her family, and the process of being creative itself. Coming to her studio and creating with her hands gives her a sense of purpose she has not found anywhere else.
